Transportable Homes
Transportable homes (or Relocatable homes) are becoming more popular every day. The advantages of Transportable homes are quite obvious over their site built competitors. As people become more aware of these critical advantages, the market share of Transportable homes is increasing every year.
Transportable homes today have many advantages over building a house on site. Transportable homes can be more cost effective to build, (even more so when building in a remote area), they are built stronger than a traditional house, quicker to build, they are energy efficient, and are environmentally friendly.
Unlike traditional site built homes, every transportable home is built on a level and very solid working base. This ensures that the basic starting point for every new house is perfectly level and all wall construction is perfectly square. With the proper basics in place, transportable homes will normally be more stable than traditional site built homes.
Transportable homes are faster to build than regular site built homes. Since a transportable home is built indoors under factory conditions, this ensures safe and comfortable working conditions all year round no matter what the weather, and results in a better product. This also means no time delays in construction and for the customer, a more accurate estimate of the completion date. This is especially helpful when arrangements need to be made for vacating your current home before moving into your new home. Because of the accurate completion date, there are no expensive surprizes due to time delays. The original quote for the job will reflect the final cost on delivery.
Transportable homes are built in a factory-controlled environment, under constant supervision and are monitored under a strict quality control process which leads to a superior build quality when compared to other building systems. The complete Relocatable home is built following our system unlike site built homes where almost anything goes as long as it can be hidden.
Since Transportable homes are built to be transported, they are specifically engineered to be stronger than regular homes. To cope with the stresses and strains of movement during transport, Transportable homes must be built to much higher standards. The floor structure is built as a steel chassis and the walls are constructed with greater structural integrity and more bracing than a traditional site built home. As it stands, a transportable home is usually a more solid construction, and will age better than a regular site built home.

First Home Owners Grant
The First Home Owner Grant is available to first home buyers who sign contracts to purchase a newly built home between 14 October 2008 and 30 June 2009. These buyers will now be eligible for a one off payment of $21,000. For people purchasing newly built homes, this means entering into a contract to build or buy a house. The house may be built on land that has already been purchased.
The increased amounts for newly built houses will be payable where:
* Building commences within 24 weeks of signing the contract
* Building is completed within 18 months of the commencement of building
A newly built home is a home that has never been sold before, nor occupied by any person. This includes:
* Contracts to build a home on land already purchased
* Homes bought off the plan
* Purchase of homes that have been built but never sold or occupied
Eligibility criteria remain the same as for the current First Home Owners Grant. The current eligibility requirements are:
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
* The applicant (or applicant’s spouse) must not have received an earlier grant
* The applicant (or applicant’s spouse) must not have previously owned their own home
* Must live in the home for at least a continuous period of 6 months, within 12 months after completion of the eligible
transaction
The FHOB will be administered by State and Territory Governments, just like the existing First Home Owners Grant. State and Territory Governments will have systems established to process applications under the new rules as soon as possible. Relevant departments in State and Territory Governments will make final decisions on individual applications.
For a newly established house, the FHOB (and FHOG) is paid in a lump sum to the first home buyer upon completion, that is, when a certificate of occupancy is provided.
There’s no time to waste as there is a deadline approaching soon. Contact us now and we’ll help you find your first home.

Transportable Homes in Queensland
From Wikipedia:
Affordable housing is a term used to describe dwelling units whose total housing costs are deemed “affordable” to a group of people within a specified income range. Although the term is often applied to rental housing that is within the financial means of those in the lower income ranges of a geographical area, the concept is applicable to both renters and purchasers in all income ranges. This article focuses on the affordability of owner-occupied and private rental housing as social housing is a specialised tenure.
In parts of the Western World, a commonly accepted guideline for housing affordability is a housing cost that does not exceed 30% of a household’s gross income. Housing costs considered in this guideline generally include taxes and insurance for owners, and usually include utility costs. When the monthly carrying costs of a home exceed 30–35% of household income, then the housing is considered unaffordable for that household.
Affordable Housing is a rare commodity in Australia today. Yes there are a few projects scattered across the county, but not nearly enough to satisfy the demand. The demand for low cost housing has always been there, but now with the economy hitting a rough patch, that demand for cheap housing is growing by the day.
In Queensland on the Sunshine Coast, there is a new low cost housing alternative. This program is opening up a new option for “Low Cost Housing Australia” searchers and sceptics alike. Yes… there is finally some affordable housing available in Australia.
This program was started to alleviate the Sunshine Coast Low Cost Housing shortage, but has now found some new customers. The housing units are widely referred to as Relocatable Homes, Transportable Homes, Modular Homes, Mobile Homes, Granny Flats or Cabins. But no matter how they are called, these affordable housing units are proving themselves very popular in many places now.
The mining industry is now choosing to buy many of these housing units and set them up in remote locations. Farmers and ranchers have used them for a while now as well. In fact almost any industry looking for a quick and lower cost alternative to housing units, is now exploring the use of our Transportable Homes. Our Low Cost Housing units are now proving themselves preferable for many different uses in a broad range of industries across the country.
